Brittani began casting independent projects in Chicago. She studied theatre and cinematography at the University of Iowa before moving back to Chicago and graduating from DePaul’s Digital Cinema program with a screenwriting degree and a concentration on casting. She trained at Paskal & Rudnicke Casting and cast several projects before moving to LA. Her first big casting department credit was as Carmen Cuba’s assistant on ‘Side Effects.’Brittani is now an associate at Barbara Fiorentino Casting and is working on some amazing upcoming projects! We are so excited to have her as a first-time guest and she’s excited to discover so many talented actors – like you!

Barbara Fiorentino Casting’s current show recently won the People’s Choice Award for “Best Cable Comedy” and features teens of all ages. How Actors Platform Works: This showcase is for actors ages 8 and up.

A total of 30 actors will be accepted to train for two consecutive Mondays. The hand-picked, polished, and well-coached scenes will present you at your absolute finest to one of the leading CA’s in the Industry! Nowhere else can you perform your very best in front of the Industry’s dynamos for coaching and feedback in an authentic theatre setting!

Schedule of Events:

Monday May 6th and 13th, 6:30-9:30 PM: Workshops. Diane will assign scenes and coach each actor individually. Each scene will be rehearsed, directed, and polished for the showcase/workshop day with our guest CD .

Monday May 20th, 6:30-9:30pm: Workshop/Showcase Upon arrival actors will warm up, rehearse, and do final preparations with Diane. The guest CD will arrive at 7:15 PM to watch your scenes and give one-on-one feedback and individual attention.

Deborah Dion: Our Favorite Guest!

Deborah is one of our favorites because we are one of hers! She has returned quite a few times to see the brightest and the best talent that Diane has to offer. Deborah knows Diane’s track record for finding the most talented actors and giving them the best platform to showcase their gifts. Deborah is a prolific casting director, having worked with the top directors and producers in the industry. She has garnered an amazing reputation, so you can believe that the limited spaces in this workshop/showcase fill up quickly!

About the Casting Director ~ Deborah Dion has become a go-to casting director for big names such as Tim Burton and M. Night Shyamalan and Wes Anderson, having cast several of their films. She is working on the feature film Quitters and is getting ready to begin casting kids for a new Indie feature in April! In addition to casting Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland, Lady in the Water, and The Happening she’s recently worked on Wes Anderson’s Golden Globe and Oscar Nominated Moonrise Kingdom, Limitless starring Bradley Cooper, I Don’t Know How She Does It starring Sarah Jessica Parker to name a few … Check out more of Deborah’s work HERE

Mon. April 8th, 6:30-8:00 PM: Auditions. You will need to prepare a 2-3 minute scene of your choice. This will not be the scene you preform for the casting director. Bring one headshot and resume and a copy of your script for the reader.

Thurs. April 11th & 18th, 6:30-9:30 PM: Workshops. Diane will assign scenes and coach each actor individually. Each scene will be rehearsed, dissected, and polished for the showcase/workshop day with our guest CD.

We’ve got two – yes, TWO – Actors Platform Showcase/Workshops in March. Monday nights feature actors ages 8 and up and Thursday nights are tailored to older teens and adults ages 14 and up. Robert McGee is March’s Monday night guest Casting Director at The Secret Rose Theatre. Thursday night’s Actors Platform is at Holly Powell Studios in Studio City with guest Casting Associate Allen Hooper.

About the Casting Directors…

On Monday – March 25 -Robert McGee of Lambert/McGee Casting has had a lustrous career that includes TWO Artios Awards for Independent Feature Casting! He’s worked on some of the hottest shows on TV- including“Wizards of Waverly Place”with Diane Christiansen Coaching’s very own David Henrie! You can take a look at more of Robert’s work here!

On Thursday, March 28th - Allen Hooper has worked in casting for the last 8 years, primarily on half-hour television comedies, both single camera and four-camera. He works on some of the biggest hits for the small screen! Learn all about Allen and his projects here!

How Actors Platform Works…

Monday night workshops and showcases are for actors ages 8 and older. Thursday night workshops are for actors ages 14 and older.
